Alicia in Simon’s hands full of love.

My first wedding of the season was beautiful. These two are so in love it was infectious & they couldn’t keep their hands off each other all day! Alicia wore her mothers wedding dress & looked so effortlessly timeless… Thanks for having me Mr & Mrs Robertson xo Lucy

CALM BEFORE THE CRAZY- taking time out on your day

My favourite moments are these quiet moments before & during all that craziness that comes with your Wedding Day.

The hugging, the formalities, worrying about everyone else having a good time…& worrying about TIME!

I think it’s so important to keep (& plan for) time by yourself & your partner on your day. I love getting ready photos as it gives a build up to the day & gives a sense of that sweet calm before the storm feel! It shows the anticipation & nervous smiles….those little things.

You may feel like you need to talk & mingle with everyone & be “present” on your day, but I will tell you now that you don’t! Your guests (as long as there is liquid & food flowing) are quite happy mingling amongst themselves & probably don’t even notice if your not around.
So don’t feel like you have to hurry back to the party- especially if your getting photos with your partner. I always tell couples that the photo shoot (if you don’t do them before the ceremony) really dosen’t take that long. The party will still be there when you get back & it’s really important to get away with just the two of you to have a big breather, preferably with a blanket & a picnic basket ……..& a beer. It’s a beautiful time where you can just look at each other & think, “wow, I just married you!”

You will feel way more refreshed & not to mention come away with some awesome images of you both looking happy & content.
